when i’m dying at the end up my run, i envision my post work-out peanut butter + banana smoothie. then it is like a magical gust of warrior princess comes from the depths and i am able to sprint home. what can i say? i freakin’ love smoothies.

Pets have even proved to lower blood pressure and aid in weight-loss.
Fitness is good for you and your pooch. Take them on walks or runs with you. Just like humans, dogs get many mental and physical benefits of routine exercise. You’ll feel great and Fido will thank you for it too :D

- small cup of lentils
- handful of spinach
- 1 onion
- 2 carrots
- 1 chilli
- 1 garlic
- loads of herbs!
Start off by putting the lentils on to cook, once they are simmering away start chopping and grating the onion, chilli, garlic and carrots. Heat up a frying pan with a little oil and add the chopped and grated goods. This is a good time to start with some seasoning, as the carrot and onion can soak it all up wonderfully. Add any spices that tickle your fancy, personally I like quite a lot of coriander, chilli powder, cumin, turmeric, smoky paprika powder and some salt and pepper. By the time you have fried this all up, the lentils should be lovely and soft, so drain and rinse and spoon into a food processor, add as much spinach as you like and blend until the mixture is smooth. This is what will bind your burger.
Now to the fun and messy part: Combine the carrot and onion mixture with the lentil mixture in a bowl and get your hands dirty! Start scooping out small handfuls of the mix and shape into patties on a board covered in chickpea flour, or whatever flour you have lying around at home. Once all patties are shaped, start heating up the frying pan with a splash of oil. Make sure the oil is hot to create a crispy burger crust and start frying. Et voilà, enjoy!
P.s. You can make a large batch of these and freeze them. Ideal for your packed lunch sandwich, simply combine in a pitta bread (available gluten-free) with fresh rocket and hummus.

Today I am feeling much more energized and am beginning to feel the slimming start. Now to reward myself with a nice bubble bath & movies.
So today I am taking on my annual reboot by juicing fresh fruits and veggies. I’m looking forward to getting my body in top-notch shape for the start of spring/summer. After a long winter, I’m looking forward to feeling zippy, light and fresh in my step again. It’s such a great way to kick off a good fitness regimen and to knock out any food cravings/addictions you may be suffering from (some you may not even be aware of).
Here’s a great everyday juice recipe and if you don’t have a juicer you can make this into as a smoothie as well.
1 handful of baby kale
1 handful of spinach
1 green apple
1 green pear
2-3 celery stalks
1 small cucumber
1 handful of strawberries
1/2 a lemon*
*if your are taking the smoothie route, I’d suggest omitting the lemon and adding almond milk so it will blend nicely.
If you’re like me you might find it difficult to complete typical squats and dead lifts at the gym when you are by yourself or without a partner. But don’t worry, no need to neglect you rump, just pick up some kettlebells! They are easier to manage on your own and you still get in a full body work out. So don’t deny yourself a nice pair of cheeks, just get creative!

Even if you can’t commit to a full-on juice fast, supplementing meals or adding a juice as your post workout refuel is a great way to boost your nutrient intake.
The recipe below is what we juice each day to get a combo of all vitamins and minerals and has the best taste. I like to avoid all fruit only juices just so my sugar levels do not rise quick and drop, I think a good mix of fruits & veggies do just right!

I didn’t begin my weight loss journey until late May of this year but It’s amazing to see the difference-I’ve still got 21 lbs to go!

Get That Body You Want
for some reason i think people have a hard time grasping what types of workouts they should do in order to achieve the results they want. it’s pretty simple actually but in an effort to reduce your thought process allow me to simplify.
first of all if you want to see results…put the processed food away. seriously. if you have to ask if it is okay to eat, the answer you should go with is no. everyone knows, fruits and vegetables are whats up. so eat them. eat them until the sun don’t shine, nothing bad will happen to you for eating too many. i promise. (potatoes don’t count, nice try it’s a starch fool)
also- relaxxx on the sodium and carb intake. sodium should be less than 1,000mg per day and limit your carbs to 1 serving. Look i didn’t decide this is what will be problematic but if you’re serious about getting your shit together you gotta work for it. be the beast warrior princess you know you are.
Now for the work outs.
A. Do you want to be a brigitte bardot-candice swanepoel-edie sedgwick type?
Well you better pray to God you like long distance running or are in the mood to start loving it. girl, what you need to do is long work outs that keep away from fast-bursts of muscle building. yoga & pilates are also recommended because these will tone you and build a good bit of muscle while the long distance cardio will burn fat. you don’t want to just be a skin-shell, girl put some strength behind that sass.
Note: it is always important if you are completing your cardio on a machine to have some resistance and incline, but for this physique it doesn’t have to be drastic. Don’t get cheap and pull some level one bullshit. You’re only fooling yourself and wasting your time. If you’re going to put a sports bra on, do the damn work.
B. want that lolo jones-allyson felix-mia hamm bod?
intervals, sprints, plyo’s are in your future mama. you can also get rough with some kettle bells and free weights. intervals are the best fat burning cardio exercise, that keep your body burning that fat even when you go to get yourself some beauty rest. if you’re terribly out of shape, just run and walk to start…as you get better jog & sprint. Add hills and get that ass you’ve always dreamed of. these types of workouts are going to help you build muscle and get that toned look you want.
note: just because you’re lifting heavy weights and running sprints like a gazelle doesn’t mean you’re going to turn into the incredible hulk. i assure you. the only women you see that are jacked and scary are the ones who are jacked an scary in the head and spend too much time injecting themselves with enough steroids to knock a horse out cold.
